Wowwww … This weekend sees the 3rd full weekend since our inauguration back on the 13th of October 2018.
We can thankfully say it’s been a brilliant ride so far, not without some expected tiny bumps in the road mind you – But with Yann and Natalie standing firm at the helm and skilfully navigating the virgin waters of a ‘new’ bars first month the voyage ahead is now looking calm and clear.
It has been a frenetic first few weeks with the big opening weekend, international bands performing, an open mic night and even hosting wedding party celebrations, we really couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Now we need to get to the real business of laying the foundations for our regular events and really nailing down the best live music and performers from the area near and far. The great news is that word has spread fast and we have been inundated with offers from some of the best local talent.
It is now time to get our inner ‘Simon Cowell’ on and start arranging to see some of these guys and find out what they are all about – The ‘Church Factor’ panel is being put together as we speak.
Quality is going to be paramount when selecting the forthcoming months diary but we also want to diversify a little – Traditional Irish music will never be far from our hearts or indeed our stage but we will be looking at bringing a more modern flavour to our stage as well as was showcased by ‘Bash’ during the week just passed – A mix of Ed Sheeran, George Ezra and other current chart artists went down a treat with our revellers.
We have had Ska and Reggae groups, Pop and Chart performers, and Tribute acts amongst the wide variety of musicians that have contacted us in recent weeks so watch this space for updates and new events. Feel free to comment on the website or Facebook page with any feedback or ideas as to exactly what YOU would like to see on our stage, similarly if YOU are an act yourself then drop us a line, we would love to meet you.
In addition to the best live music the ‘BIG’ sports events will always be shown on our screens – The Church loves its football, rugby and boxing in particular – You never know you may be seeing a few star names from the sporting world grace our presence over the coming months.
The Church is not somewhere you go to – It is a family you belong to.
